Danse Serpentine is a video- textile interaction installation that refers to the simplicity of the images and the materiality and continues with my research about haptic perception and the early techniques of images projection and cinema, such a magic lanterns and phantasmagorias. The video projection in this installation belongs to a film by the Lumière’s Brothers realized in 1896, that was colored by hand later. The Serpentine dancer is Loie Fuller. The physical installation is composed of two projections of the same film that interacts with the mobiles textiles surfaces making a surreal dance, one in which the spectator can participate not just on a visual level.
